We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data by not collecting any data from you at all. This Privacy Policy explains how we do not collect, use, or disclose your information when you use our TippyTip application ("App").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
We do not collect any personal data from you at all. If you enable the optional OpenAI API for automatic tagging and summarization, your API key is securely stored on device only.
Only if you enable optional AI features: Web content from your links are shared with OpenAI API service for the purpose of generating/moderating summaries and tags if you choose to enable this feature. If you do not enable this feature, nothing leaves your device unless you export your link collection via CSV or export your audio summaries via the download button which empowers you to share it with others. TippyTip sees none of this, there is no central server that TippyTip reports back to.
TippyTip doesn't collect any data from you at all, so we don't use it for anything. However, if you enable optional AI features, the app will store that API key in the iOS device's secure keychain and use your OpenAI API key to generate summaries and tags for your links. The only thing that the app sends to OpenAI API in the case that you enable this feature is the webpage content from the links you have saved.
TippyTip doesn't collect any data from you at all, so we don't share it with anyone. However, there are two optional features that use third party services which if enabled will share your data securely with the following services:
The developer of TippyTip is not liable for any data shared with third party services. Users are responsible for the security of their own iCloud and OpenAI accounts. TippyTip does not collect any data in a central location (it is all on-device or in your iCloud account if you opt to use the optional iCloud sync feature) and so could never be compelled to share your data.
If the developer of TippyTip--or if TippyTip were ever to be incorporated into the portfolio of an LLC or corporation that decided as such--chose to add additional features that may require further data sharing, users would have to opt-in to any new data sharing before that was enabled on their devices. However, this app is a pet project of a solo developer to solve a narrow use case and so this is unlikely.
Users are responsible for the security of their own devices, iCloud accounts, and OpenAI accounts. TippyTip does not collect any data in a central location (it is all on your device [and in your iCloud account if you opt to use the optional iCloud sync feature]).
We do not knowingly collect personal information of any sort for any age.
The following table outlines the data we collect and how it is used:
| Data Type | Purpose | Linked to You? |
|---|---|---|
| None | We do not collect any data from you at all. | No |
We may share certain data with the following third-party services, however, this is shared directly from the app to the third party service and not sent through any central TippyTip server (none exist):
We collect nothing about you at all, so we do not retain any data. You can delete data from the app from an option in settings or by deleting the app from your device(s).
Your data is primarily stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud synchronization, your data is also stored in your personal iCloud account according to Apple's privacy and security practices.
TippyTip does not track you across other apps and websites. We respect your App Tracking Transparency preferences.
We may make minor updates to our Privacy Policy from time to time to improve wording and clarity, but any material changes to the privacy policy will require an opt in. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
